The Baldor Digital Soft Start Controls reduces the wear on mechanical gears,
chains, gearboxes and reduces water hammer in pumping applications. The
reduced inrush current can prevent overload preventing penalties charged by
the utility company. The application software senses changing load
conditions and adapts to increase performance. The power factor
eliminates motor over-fluxing and allows under-loaded or over-sized motors
to operate more efficiently. The Baldor's digital soft start control
combines a 6 SCR three phase voltage regulator with the most adaptable soft
starting techniques available.
